The price tape for yachting
Yacht prices are negotiated in private and announced, if at all, as asking prices — which makes the monthly brokerage record the closest thing the market has to a price index. Read across a year of those months and the pattern is clear: fewer trophy sales at the very top, steady volume in the middle, and a market that rewards newer, larger, well-maintained yachts while older tonnage waits.
Headline figures
Trend column: each figure is compared with its prior period from the same source, with the prior figure shown. Where no prior-period figure from the same source was available, the figure is labeled Baseline (October 2026) — trend tracking starts with the next refresh.
| Month | Sales (24m+) | Total value | Average | Source | Trend vs prior period |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| August 2025 | 32 | €405.1M | €12.7M | BOATPro, via BOAT International | Baseline (October 2026) — trend tracking starts with the next refresh |
| September 2025 | 22 | €940.7M | €42.8M | BOATPro, via BOAT International | Sales ▼ vs August 2025: 32; average ▲ vs August 2025: €12.7 million (same BOATPro monthly series) |
| April 2026 | 41 | €381M | €9.3M | BOATPro, via BOAT International | Baseline (October 2026) — trend tracking starts with the next refresh |
| New listings, August 2025 | 87 yachts | €1.4B | €16.5M | BOATPro, via BOAT International | Baseline (October 2026) — trend tracking starts with the next refresh |
Monthly averages swing wildly — €9.3 million one month, €42.8 million the next — because a single very large sale can double a month's total. That volatility is the point, not a flaw: it shows a thin market at the top where one transaction rewrites the average. Broader context from the same coverage puts 2025 brokerage sales at €7.5 billion, with total value holding firm even as transaction counts eased from pandemic highs, as buyers shifted toward larger, higher-specification vessels. Methodology
Included: BOATPro/BOAT International monthly brokerage reports for yachts of 24 metres and above, the 2024 top-sales review, and a published market-size estimate. Excluded: yachts under 24 metres (no verified aggregate this session), individual asking prices presented as sale prices (only Phoenix 2's asking price is shown, labeled as such), and any IYBA aggregate — none was verified this session. Asking prices are not sale prices; where a total is labeled a sales value, it follows BOATPro's convention.
